It allowed entry into the world for new players. While traditional EverQuest fans knew the title, it was also picked up and played by gamers who didn’t know about Norrath.

The action-RPG gameplay of Champions of Norrath was a departure from the fantasy, slow-paced combat of EverQuest, but helped create its own identity.
